Effects of Latisse on Permanent Eyeliner Procedures

When I wrote an article some time ago about not having an issue with tattooing eyeliner on Latisse users, it was very premature. It had just become popular and I wasn’t faced, yet, with long-term users.

I am sure you will have noticed, by now, that those using Latisse for an extended period of time, bleed heavily. The reason for the excessive bleeding is due to the blood supply being drawn closer to the skin surface to promote growth in the eyelashes.

I have had to pause many eyeliner procedures and apply pressure with a cotton swab soaked in Duration Ultra to stop the bleeding. The blood would also coagulate in the needle tube and would sometimes have to be rinsed before proceeding. It truly makes a simple procedure quite lengthy and difficult.

I presently recommend my clients stop using Latisse for a minimum of 2-weeks, prior to having their permanent eyeliner procedure.

I would love to hear any and all of your recommendations for your clients. We will be happy to publish them on The Beau Institute Face Book page.

Warmly,
